2012,
the Swiss radio programme "Album suisse" was dedicated to the CD
"Esther Ofarim in Geneva".
David Hadzis, the man behind the CD, was invited to give background
information on the songs, which he found in the vaults of the Swiss radio and
tv archives after a long search.

here for the very first time. Songs from all Esther's song festival entries,
including Israel 1961 (alternate recording of 'Sa'eni Imcha Bemachol'), Sopot
1962 (alternate recordings of 'Stav' and 'Dumam'), Chansons Sur Mesure 1963
(very rare recording of 'Saint-Amour') and Eurovision 1963 (alternate recording
of her hit 'T'en va pas'). Rare pictures from the period. Exclusive essay with
quotes by Esther Ofarim herself, reflecting on her Geneva years. -- Esther
Ofarim's Geneva recordings have been a mystery to her fans across the world
until today. Even Esther herself assumed they had been lost. But this hidden
treasure was recently discovered in the Swiss Radio vaults, in the form of a
series of studio recordings initially intended for radio broadcast. These
previously unheard 1962/63 performances in French, Italian, English and Hebrew
marked the beginning of Esther Ofarim's international career. Restored and
remastered in high definition from the original master tapes, this 20 track
collection features rare photos and an exclusive essay with quotes from Esther
herself reflecting on her Radio-Genève recordings.

1963 (sehr seltene Aufnahme von 'Saint-Amour') und der Eurovision 1963

exklusiver Essay mit Erinnerungen von Esther Ofarim an ihre Zeit in Genf. -- Die
in Genf entstanden Aufnahmen von Esther Ofarim sind bis heute ein Rätsel für
ihre Fans auf der ganzen Welt. Esther selbst vermutete, die Aufnahmen seien
verschollen. Doch dieser versteckte Schatz wurde kürzlich in den Archiven des
Schweizer Rundfunks entdeckt. Offensichtlich hatte man ursprünglich geplant,
eine Serie mit diesen Aufnahmen im Rundfunk auszustrahlen. Die aus den Jahren
1962 und 1963 stammenden Aufnahmen in französischer, italienischer, englischer
und hebräischer Sprache markieren den Beginn von Esthers internationaler
Karriere. Die restaurierten und in bester Qualität von den Original-Tonbändern
neu gemastereten Einspielungen kommen zusammen mit seltenen Bildern und einem
exklusivem Essay mit Zitaten von Esther selbst, die sich an ihre Aufnahmen für
das Schweizer Radio in Genf erinnert.
