As part of the Jewish Culture Days 2026, the
award winning film "Esther" will be screened on 17th November at CineStar Berlin–CUBIX at Alexanderplatz.
The screening begins at 6:00 PM, with doors opening at 5:30 PM.
The film will be presented in its original Hebrew version with English
subtitles.

"Esther Ofarim was once the voice of Israel. Now she lives a quiet life in Hamburg, far from the Middle East. After achieving global stardom, her move to Germany in the 1960s brought European acclaim but growing rejection in Israel, rendering her both iconic and invisible. Through intimate phone conversations and rare archival footage, the film explores the emotional cost of exile and the life of an elusive artist caught between clashing identities. It is a journey through places and times, tracing the portrait of a woman who never sought to be a national symbol, and whose legendary voice continues to echo in the homeland she left behind."

Im Rahmen der Jüdischen Kulturtage 2026 wird der
preisgekrönte Film "Esther" am 17. November im CineStar Berlin–CUBIX am Alexanderplatz gezeigt. Die Vorführung beginnt um 18:00 Uhr, der Einlass startet um 17:30 Uhr.
Der Film wird in der hebräischen Originalfassung mit englischen Untertiteln präsentiert.

"Esther Ofarim war einst eine der bekanntesten Stimmen Israels. In den 1960er-Jahren wurde sie als internationaler Star weltberühmt und stand mit Künstler:innen wie Cher und Leonard Cohen auf der Bühne, bevor sie sich nach Hamburg zurückzog. Als der Krieg in ihrer Heimat eskaliert, beginnt ein junger Filmemacher nächtliche Telefongespräche mit der zurückgezogen lebenden Sängerin. Mit seltenem Archivmaterial entsteht ein berührendes Porträt über Erinnerung, Zugehörigkeit und den Preis des Ruhms."
